Everyday Mental Exercises for Developing Intuition
- Practice making quick decisions on minor matters. Set a ten second limit.
- Make quick decisions on the following:
- Ordering from a menu.
- Deciding what to wear.
- Selecting a driving route.
- Choosing a movie.
- Choosing a restaurant.
- Buying a clothing accessory.
- Practice making predictions and always go with the first thought that comes to your mind.
- Intuition always comes like a "flash" into the consciousness from the subconscious mind. So making predictions quickly helps to release the intuitiveness from the subconscious on a regular basis.
- Practice reading and interpreting photographs
- Turn off the sound while watching TV and after five minutes of watching TV without sound, describe the story.
- After brief meetings with strangers, try to describe them in detail.
- Try to determine their hobbies.
- Imagine what their relationships with other people are like.
- Predict how they feel about themselves
- Imagine what their tastes are in reading, entertainment, clothing, and food.
- Work with a friend or partner. Use photographs and have one person describe the other's acquaintances.
- When reading the newspaper, cover the captions on newspaper photographs, and in your own words, quickly determine what is going on in the photo. Look at cartoons and try to come up with your own captions.
